Hi, thanks for visiting my blog! My name's Zoe and this blog is all about my explorations into sewing and refashioning. These passions form a big part of my desire to live a more sustainable and authentic life. I also aim to inspire and assist others in making/remaking their own clothing.
I firmly believe that sewing and creating can have a fantastic impact on mental health, and am also convinced that enjoying sewing needn't break the bank.
I'm the creator of the popular online challenges called Me-Made-May which ask sewers/knitters/crocheters/refashioners to wear hand-created clothing every day for a month. The aim is to encourage people to bring the DIY and handmade ethos into their everyday lives, and to develop a better relationship with your handmade wardrobe. The next challenge will be Me-Made-May '16, sign-ups begin on 1st April 2016!!!
Currently, I live in Hastings on the South Coast of the UK with my husband and our daughter Dolores. I am a self-employed sewing teacher, and can be found teaching classes at:
The Village Haberdashery, West Hampsted, London,
Tilly and the Buttons's HQ, London,
MIY Workshop, Brighton, East Sussex,
I also organise an annual contemporary craft and handmade market called Brighton Craftaganza.
You can contact me at: sozoblog (at) gmail (dot) com. I'm always open to collaborations and ideas related to sewing, refashioning and sustainability.
