Me-Made-May'13: It's Coming....

That's right friends, Me-Made-May'13 is so nearly upon us!!!! The handmade clothing challenge that began back in 2010 is BACK for another year of awesomeness, inspiration and fun.

I will be posting this year's pledge along with full details and explanation about participating next week, so head back here if you are even vaguely interesting in taking part in MMMay'13 (and why wouldn't you?! You're not crazy, at least I don't think you are...).

Very exciting! I've traveling for most of May - I guess that will just add to the challenge;)

Looking Forward To That! yay

That's so great to hear! I would love to participate this year!

That's great, I just laché photos of my outfits! This is an opportunity to get back and continue on the path of féminté and 40s and 50s ... You would have to track parts suitable for my morphology?

velosews said...

Sure. Why not? I met some amazing sewers last year so I'm in.

Miriam said...

oh exciting I SO want to participate this year

Merche Martinez said...

Yay! I´m missing all the stress of taking one photo a day ;) And all the fun too!

Annie said...

I feel like I would be in a much better position to participate, if I could make some batwing tops like your gorgeous ones!

Sabs said...

Oh no! I really, really, really wanted to join in with one of the me-mades this year but we're doing construction work in our kitchen in May and I don't think wearing pretty dresses when knocking down walls is a terribly good idea! Will there be another one later in the year Zoe? (please say yes!)

Yay!!

i've never participated in it (because i only discovered you after last may!) and am excited to see the challenge... and perhaps even participate! :) lisa

I'm also going to put in my 2 cents for hoping for another one later this year-- I'd love to participate, but it's the busiest time of year at a job where I can't wear me-made anything/the month before my wedding, and making the dress means that I literally have nothing new to show-- I think I finished all of 3 pieces of clothes after last year's before I got engaged and dove into the dress! I'll definitely be cheering on from the sidelines, though.

Hi peops, no I won't be arranging another Me-Made/Self-Stitched challenge this year. As you can see from the previous blog post, I'm due to have a baby later this year so will be struggling to keep my shit together!

I'm very sorry to those who feel they won't be able to participate this time round. I hope you will be able to join in next year

Oh yeah. I'm so pleased at the thought of actually being able to partake this year! It's been two years in the waiting!

I'm determined to join in this year! Funnily, I was just searching yesterday whether it was going to me made may this year so great timing!

I am very much looking forward to this! Time to start sewing/knitting now!

Even though my life is Me Made most of the time I still look forward to MMM, which will be my first one!

Gillian said...

Woohoo! I'm so glad you are hosting this again! Last year's Me-Made May really marked a turning point for me - since then, I have worn handmade clothing almost every day!

(Also - congrats on the baby! I'm excited for you!)

Hmmm... I have to think about it... I will check your blog for more details.

I'd love to take part... It would be easy from a knitwear point of view, but I'd have to really get my sew on to make up the rest. Very tempting!

Alyssa said...

I really hope I can participate! I anticipated this and brought home all my me-mades from storage :)

Cucicucicoo said...

oh my goodness, i completely missed your last post! congratulations!! i'm not planning on getting pregnant again, but i so look forward to seeing what kind of maternity clothes you make!

I'm so happy! This'll be my first Me-Made-May and between a birthday on the third and the May-day fair I'll have plenty of excuses for pretty frocks! :)

Michelle said...

EEP! I'm so excited. I think I have finally managed to sew enough clothing to make it through a month! I'm absolutely in!

Sabs said...

Completely understand, reckon a baby is going to need WAY more organisation and time! I will def look out next year as I'd love to join in and prove to myself that I can make my whole wardrobe - and this way I get a whole extra year to make more stuff, yay!

I`m in!

I've been looking forward to this me-made since last year! I am so in. And a huge congratulations on your lovely news.

I'm in :) ... can you tell me how to get the Me Made 13 widget for my blog?

Yay! So excited!!! :)

Lovenicky said...

Yes I'm in! I don't know what the weather will be like in my part of the world in May - could be freezing, even snowing or t-shirt/shorts weather - but I'm looking forward to it!

Debbie said...

oh yes! Count me in again, I have had such fun the previous times!

Erika said...

Tempting... the only problem is how to up the stake? There's no point unless I make it a challenge, and I wear at least one me-made every day. Can't go all-in, lack the outerwear...
If I can think of a way to phrase something that's both manageble and challenging, then I'm in. Don't want to miss out on all the fun!
Good idea with a week's head's-up, now I have time to really think this through =)

Janine said...

congratulations on your special baby news. In terms of baby clothing there is so much lovely barely used second hand baby clothes that is easy to be green here. also sewing for babies is a great way to use up small pieces of fabric and it is so much quicker being so much smaller. It is easy too to go crazy with extra cute details.

Danielle Krivan said...

Oh, I was so hoping you'd hold one this year! My available choices are a bit limited, but if we can include refashions and are allowed to sew during the month too (that's not cheating, is it??), then I'm definitely in!

Kestrel said...

I'm hoping to take part this year but with the added challenge of maternity fashion I probably won't commit to every day of the week as I think everyone would be bored of seeing my limited outfit range! But I have a few more weeks to sew so that's good news, and maybe I'll try a refashion too.

Zoe said...

Wow! So good to see so many excited potential participants at this early stage! Thanks one and all for your positive comments.

@Sue Havlin I'll be making the widget/gadget code available once the official sign up post has published next week. The code of the widget needs that post's address to ping it to, so when you click on it, it pings to the explanation/sign-up post.

Thanks!

Yay! I really want to participate this year. This will help me take stock of my goal to have an almost entirely me-made wardrobe by the end of the year.

Helena said...

I really want to participate this year too, I hope I can squeeze into my skirts and pants by May. I'm having a baby any day now and May will be full of breast-feeding which will remove several blouses and dresses. I hope I can participate anyway, with a more restricted pledge than last year.

Huzzah! Count me in for this one!

Hannah (Sinbad and Sailor) said...

Nothing like a bit of pressure to get me making more for myself! Count me in Zoe :)

Kelly said...

I think I might try it this year! Better get cracking on a few more things this month, though.

Anonymous said...

Woo! Look forward to hearing more. I did this last year, but totally failed in keeping a photographic record to evidence it!

Hana said...

Yay! I am very excited about this:)

Rochelle New said...

Yay! Count me in! I realized I have a serious lack of plain colored mix and match separates in my wardrobe right now so I'm going to try and sew a few staple things before then.

Carolyn said...

I am definitely excited to take part again! I think this will be my sixth time participating :)

But most importantly, congratulations on your very exciting news! I am very happy for you :)

I'm in! I haven't made much lately, hopefully this will spur me on!

I am so there! I would love to run the Friday everyone-does-the-same-thing-in-the-photos challenges, if that's OK.
