Giveaway: Eliza M's Vintage-Inspired Sewing Patterns!!!

**PLEASE NOTE: THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED. THANKS FOR ENTERING**

So, dear sewers, have you heard of Eliza M's vintage style sewing patterns (website pictured above)? Due to time constraints I don't get to spend as much time surfing the online-sewing community as I'd like, but I have to admit that I hadn't heard of them myself until last week. But I am very pleased that I now have! Based in Manchester, UK, they have recently relaunched themselves and I recommend you to head over and see what they've got on offer.

If, like me, you're into sewing vintage-y/retro-y garments but find all the sizing-confusion and redrafting of vintage patterns a bit of a drag, their range is definitely worth a look. I've just received my copy of the Pussy Galore blouse (pictured above paired with the Hop and Swing pants) and the packaging looks great. I'm really excited to get cracking on it early in the new year, after which I'll of course post a full review.

In the meantime, the Eliza M team are offering up a free pattern for three of my lovely blog readers so you can give them a whirl yourself for nowt. Consider it a Christmas present you'll really want to receive! And what better way to kick start your New Year's sewing, with more than enough time to create a nice addition to your self-made wardrobe for 2013's Me-Made-May?!

Excitingly, entrants to this giveaway can pick their favourite pattern to win. So whether it's the 40's inspired swing style Grace dress (pictured above), early 60's style Ruby Wiggle dress (pictured below), or any of the others in their ample collection, there's probably something that could become your next party outfit or daywear addition.

Eliza M patterns are like genuine vintage patterns in the respect that they are single sized, so you'll need to let me know which pattern AND which size you require when entering. So let me know those two things in the comment section below, and whilst you're at it, let me know what fabric you'd possibly make your pattern in if you're successful in winning it (just because I'm nosey!).

If I can't access your email address within two clicks of the mouse, please include it in your entry comment. Email addresses will not be used for anything other than to contact you if you are one of the three lucky winners of this giveaway. This giveaway is open internationally and the winners will receive their choice of sewing pattern completely free of charge. The giveaway entries will close at midnight GMT Sunday 6th January 2013 and the three winners will be chosen by random number generator and contacted Monday 7th January. Good luck, my pattern-loving friends!

Oh how difficult. I discovered these patterns through Handmade Jane, but to choose between the Ruby wiggle or Grace dress is sooo hard! I think the Grace dress might just win! Not sure on the size though, possibly a 12-14, will need to check that one! What a fab belated Christmas present!

Hi Zoe, I think I would pick the A-line skirt pattern because I could see it made up in many different fabrics and used throughout the year. I would use a felted wool or plaid first and wear it all winter! Thank you for the giveaway and happy Christmas! philippa.lincoln@hotmail.co.uk

Oh, I'm soooo glad you're blogging about this one! I never even knew they excisted, untill you posted this! What've I been missing!? Definitly something to be saved as a favorite!

Oh, and I just adore the Alma Wiggle Skirt pattern! I think a size 12 or 14, but I'll have to check that at home.

These are stunning patterns. My first pick would have to be the grace Dress I think - I'd probably make it up in a navy and white polka dot I have waiting around for a special occasion. I think I'd go for the 14 although I am a bit worried that they say they are small in their sizing.... I might even have to go for a 16?? Usually I grade out to a 14 in the bust and am a 12 elsewhere. Great giveaway and Merry Christmas to you Zoe - thank you so much for your inspiration throughout the year. I am so looking forward to joining in with Me Made May next year. Blessings and Peace - Miriam x

I saw Jane rocking the ruby wiggle and that would be my choice... Size 12 .. Merry Christmas Zoe x

Hi Zoe, thanks for finding the site, it'll definitely come in handy ;0)
I've chosen the Peggy dress, in size 22 please. I think I've done right in choosing the 22 as it fits my bust measurements. My waist & hips would be between size 16 & 18 but I can resize the pattern.
I'd like to make it in Alexander Henrys "from the hip" Cowgirls fabric in blue or maybe pink, if I can get some. If not then a polka dot & cherries fabric, or roses & teapots in blue.
Merry Christmas x

The patterns all look quite nice, but I think the Pussy Galore Blouse may just fit the bill! I don't know how the size conversion works from UK to USA.

I have been searching for a rtw dress exactly like the Daisy dress. I'd choose a size 12 and I'd love to make in linen. A navy or maybe emerald since it's the color of 2013!

Thanks for hosting such a lovely giveaway. Good luck everyone :)

Pattern discovery twins! I only just found Eliza M last week at work (totes doing work things and not surfing sewing blogs at all...) I am in love with so many pieces! I would say my current favourite is Grace and I would need a size 16. Fabric wise some kind of epic jersey to get a cool drape. Though who knows with me- whatever I grab at a fabric store, in all honesty ;)

geogrrl said...

The one that appeals to me most is the Greta Tea Dress, and I'd need the pattern in a UK Size 22.

As for fabric, I'm not a fan of the fabric used for the original, and I'm not a floral girl, particularly. The skirt is cut on the bias, and for a nice drape I could not use a stiff fabric. I have a heavy rayon in a solid jade green that would look fabulous made up as this dress.

I would love the Eliza pattern for my daughter in a size 22, she is very busty and struggles to find anything to fit let alone flatter her so it would be nice to be able to make her a special dress. I would do it in a black with white polka dots and another in red with White polka dots it would look great in many fabrics I have on hand
Thank you for the oppurtunity to win raegrueber[at]gmail[dot]com

Ooh, I've not heard of them before, they look fab! I'd probably go for the Pussy Galore blouse in a 12, because you can never have too many tops and I clearly don't have enough to begin with ;)

I would plump for the peggy in a size 20, and it would have to be a classic polka dot!

I'm not sure if you can get to my e-mail through my profile or not. I can be reached at chemgrrl @ hotmail dot com

Just remove the spaces and replace "dot" with an actual dot.

I've literally just created a post about Audrey Hepburn!

I would love the Audrey Dress Pattern, and I think a size 18 would probably be a safe bet. That way I can reduce down as I lose weight!

I'm just a beginner, but I'd love to create it in the black, but I think it would look amazing in cream, and/or white too. I think it would be really pretty in polka dot for the summer time as well. :D

Amazing! I'd love the Grace dress! I have a 34" bust and usually fit into a vintage size 12-14. In modern sizing I tend to be a 7.

Definitely the ruby wiggle dress, size 14. I've got some bright blue (somewhere between a teal and a royal blue) stretch taffeta in my stash that I'd use for it. Thanks for hosting the giveaway! poldapop[at]gmail[dot]com

Wow. Either Wanda or Gypsy Jayne in size 20. Thanks for the opportunity to win and Happy New Year.

Oh, I like the Audrey dress. It would make a lovely LBD. I do like the gypsy Jayne blouse too, it looks so comfortable and easy to wear, but so much nicer than a T shirt and dressier than a button up. hmm, tough choice. I 'll cross my fingers that I have to choose.

I'm between a 10 and a 12 ... so I guess I would have to figure that out.

Thanks for pointing out a pattern source I'd never heard before. I'll be adding to my virtual wish list!

It's the Ruby that does it for me, in a size 10. As for fabric, I think I have some teal coloured fabric that would be just the ticket.
